Goodooga Great Artesian Baths Now Open for 2026 Season

Brewarrina Shire Council is pleased to announce the official reopening of the Goodooga Great Artesian Baths for the 2026 season, with locals and visitors once again able to enjoy one of the region’s most unique and relaxing natural attractions.

Fed by the Great Artesian Basin, the Baths draw travellers from across not just the region, but right around Australia seeking the therapeutic benefits of the naturally heated mineral waters and the tranquillity of Goodooga’s wide‑open landscapes. Over the summer period, Council undertook essential maintenance to ensure the facility was in top-top shape and ready for what is expected to be another strong season.

Brewarrina Shire Council General Manager David Kirby said the reopening marks an important moment for both locals and visitors.

“The Goodooga Great Artesian Baths are one of the real jewels of our Shire,” Mr Kirby said.

“Every year we see people return because they simply love the combination of natural beauty, warm artesian water and genuine outback hospitality.”

Mr Kirby said the facility continues to play a valuable role in supporting local tourism and small businesses.

“Tourism is a vital part of our regional economy, and the Goodooga community has always been incredibly proud of what the Baths bring to the town.

“With free camping, accessible amenities and a peaceful setting that encourages people to slow down and reconnect, the Baths offer an experience that keeps Goodooga firmly on the map.

 “In the peak visitor period we’ve seen more than 60 plus caravans and campers a night at the free camping area beside the Baths. It brings a real buzz and a huge influx for a community of just over 200 people.”

He said the timing of the reopening is ideal.

“It’s fantastic to see the Baths back open ahead of the upcoming Easter and school holiday period. Council’s team worked hard to complete essential repairs and maintenance without disrupting visitors, and we’re looking forward to another strong season for our town.”

Visitors are encouraged to plan a stop in Goodooga as part of their autumn and winter travels, enjoy the natural artesian waters, and support local businesses throughout the Shire.

The Goodooga Great Artesian Baths are now open 24 hours a day through until November, with free entry and onsite camping available.
