Goodooga Splash Park officially completed
In good news for the community of Goodooga, the brand-new water Splash Park is officially completed after final landscaping work was finished last week. The free facility is designed to provide endless fun and refreshment for families and individuals of all ages.
The more than $200,000 water park, funded from Stronger Country Community Fund, features a fully shaded fun sensory water play area, shaded picnic tables and BBQ, and expansive grassed area, perfect for the community to cool off, come together and enjoy the outdoors.
Mayor Tom Stanton visited the recently completed facility over the weekend and said it was fantastic and a very welcomed addition for his community.
“It’s wonderful to see this terrific new facility completed and open for the community to enjoy all year round. Free facilities like this are essential as they provide an accessible space for families to gather, play, and create lasting memories without the burden of cost,” said Councillor Stanton.
“It’s about fostering a sense of community and ensuring that everyone, regardless of their economic situation, has the opportunity to enjoy recreational activities. For Goodooga, it will play a crucial role in promoting physical activity, social interaction, and overall well-being.
“The park offers a safe environment where people can connect, relax, and have fun, while also encouraging a healthy lifestyle. By providing such amenities, we aim to enhance social cohesion and support the mental and physical health of our residents.”
The Goodooga Splash Park is open seven days a week, all year round, from 8am to 8pm, with entry completely free for all.
