Bald Archy Exhibition

The Bald Archy Exhibition is open all weekend at the Brewarrina Visitor Information Centre, showcasing its trademark humour and creativity.

Celebrated for its playful send‑up of the traditional Archibald Prize, the Bald Archy has long carved out its own place in Australia’s cultural landscape.

The 2026 finalists showcase a lively mix of well‑known Australian personalities, with works capturing everyone from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, political figures including Bob Katter, Pauline Hanson and Peter Dutton, sporting stars and famous Aussie faces like Robert Irwin and Celeste Barber.

Bre Big Fish

One of Brewarrina’s most loved traditions returns this June Long Weekend, with the 2026 Bre Big Fish bringing anglers, families and visitors together on the banks of the Barwon River for three days of fishing, fun and community spirit.

Hosted by the Brewarrina Fishing Club and proudly supported by Brewarrina Shire Council, the event features a huge range of prize categories, family‑friendly activities and the chance to enjoy our river country at its best.

• Friday 5 June – Visitor Information Centre, 9.30am–3.30pm

• Friday 5 June – Brewarrina RSL Auditorium, 5pm–8pm

• Saturday 6 June – Brewarrina RSL Barwon Room, 8am–12pm

Friday 5 June – Sunday 7 June Fishing runs across the entire long weekend, with weigh‑ins and presentations held at the Brewarrina RSL.

Weigh‑ins: Saturday 6 June: 4pm–5pm and Sunday 7 June: 10am–12pm and Brewarrina RSL

Presentation: Join the community for the official presentation at 1pm on Sunday 7 June in the Brewarrina RSL carpark, followed by the mega raffle.

Four Mile Reserve NOW OPEN

After less than three months of construction Four Mile Reserve is now open to the public, following the completion of the majority of upgrade works under the recent redevelopment project. The revitalised riverside destination is now ready to welcome locals and visitors back ahead of the busy June long weekend and upcoming school holiday period.

Co‑funded by the Australian and NSW Governments through the Community Assets Program, the transformation delivers a refreshed, more accessible and more resilient public space, featuring upgraded amenities, shaded BBQ areas and seating, improved river access and floating jetty, alongside enhanced roads, footpaths, lighting and parking areas. Some landscaping working is still to be completed after recent rainfalls, but all facilities have been designed to withstand flooding events and support long‑term community use for all.

Brewarrina Aboriginal Cultural Museum

Just steps away from the ancient Baiame’s Ngunnhu, the Brewarrina Aboriginal Cultural Museum should be the first stop on any visit to Brewarrina. The museum is your gateway to thousands of years of First Nations culture, Country and storytelling.

Housed in striking, purpose-built gunyahs, the museum brings to life the history of the Ngemba, Ualarai, Weilwan and Baranbinja peoples through immersive stories, ancient traditions and local art available for purchase.

Join a guided tour of the museum and the Fish Traps to experience sacred knowledge from the local people in the very place their ancestors have gathered for tens of thousands of years.

Goodooga Artesian Springs

Relax and unwind at the Goodooga Artesian Springs, these naturally heated 40°C mineral-rich baths are open 24 hours all weekend.

Fed by the Great Artesian Basin, these waters have been cherished for generations for their relaxation and healing benefits – easing tension, relieving pain and promoting restful sleep.

The fully accessible shaded pool is open 24-hours a day and the complex features bathrooms, hot water showers, RV dump point, electric BBQ, outdoor hybrid gym, shaded picnic area and free camping.

Closed only for cleaning 10am–11am Friday and Monday.
