Nominations now open for 2025 Australia Day Awards

Brewarrina Shire Council is delighted to announce that nominations for the 2025 Australia Day Awards are now open! This annual event is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate, recognise and acknowledge the outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals and organisations within our community.

Brewarrina Shire Council General Manager David Kirby said the awards aim to recognise those who have made a significant positive impact in our community over the past year, while also acknowledging the date is not a day of celebration for all.

“Australia Day is an important day to reflect, respect and celebrate all our people. Our country’s history is complex, and it’s important we acknowledge and reconcile our past to help lay a path to a stronger future,” said Mr Kirby.

“This Australia Day, we’ll be hosting our annual Australia Day Awards to recognise and honour the remarkable achievements, excellence and contributions of individuals or organisations in our community. It’s a chance to shine a light on the inspiring work and dedication of those who help make the Brewarrina Shire a better community.

“If you know someone or an organisation that has demonstrated outstanding dedication, service, or excellence, then I encourage you to consider nominating them for this prestigious honour.”
