Community Invited to Have Their Say on Draft Community Strategic Plan

At the March Ordinary Meeting, Brewarrina Shire Councillors reviewed and have endorsed the Draft Community Strategic Plan (CSP) 2025–2035. A roadmap for the next decade, Council is calling on the community to review and share their feedback on the draft Plan during its formal public exhibition period.

The Draft CSP reflects months of engagement with residents, community groups, businesses and service providers across the Shire. Through pop‑up sessions, surveys and conversations across towns and villages, community members shared their priorities, concerns and aspirations for the years ahead.

Brewarrina Shire Mayor Tom Stanton said the plan captures the strong themes that emerged throughout the engagement process.

“People told us they want reliable services, safer roads, more opportunities for young people, a stronger local economy and a Shire that remains proud, connected and resilient. This draft plan reflects those priorities and sets a clear direction for the future of our region,” Cr Stanton said.

The Draft CSP outlines long‑term goals and strategies across key focus areas including liveability, infrastructure, economic development, community wellbeing, cultural recognition and environmental sustainability. It provides the foundation for Council’s future planning, budgeting and service delivery.

“With the draft now endorsed by Councillors, we are now inviting the community to take a look at the full document and tell us whether we’ve captured your vision accurately. This is your plan, and your voice continues to guide it,” Cr Stanton said.

The Draft Community Strategic Plan is available on Council’s website and a hard copy at Council’s administration office. Community members are encouraged to review the document and share their feedback

Council will consider all submissions before finalising the Community Strategic Plan later this year.
