Welcome to Bre: New resident and community event

After a hugely successful event last year, Brewarrina Shire Council is delighted to announce the ‘Welcome to Bre’ new residents event is on again. The event, dedicated to welcoming new residents and bringing together the wider community, is scheduled for Friday, February 21, starting at 5:30 pm at the Visitor Information Centre.

Brewarrina Shire Council Mayor Tom Stanton said the anticipated event represents a wonderful opportunity for the community to gather and extend a heartfelt welcome to the regions newest members.

“The ‘Welcome to Bre’ event is a crucial initiative for our community. It helps new residents, and their families, settle in by providing them with a platform to meet others and build networks. Our community’s diversity and vibrancy are our greatest strengths, and this event is a celebration of that. We look forward to welcoming our new residents and supporting them as they become an integral part of our community,” said Mayor Stanton.

The evening will see Mayor Tom Stanton and members of Council share insights and extend a warm welcome to all new residents. It also allows residents, new and current come together, fostering connections and friendships within the community.

“General Manager David Kirby and I will go around the event and introduce new community members in a casual setting. Key community stakeholders and facilities have been invited to attend as well. These include schools, health services, police and fire services, as well as local businesses.

“Each new community member will also take home a gift pack, which will also include local information for the area, such as local businesses, health services and school lists and contact information to help them settle into their new life in the Brewarrina Shire.”

Light Refreshments and snacks will also be provided.

“Enjoy delicious treats while mingling and getting to know your neighbours,” added Mayor Stanton.

“To ensure we can accommodate everyone, please RSVP and confirm your attendance by visiting Council’s website or by phoning 6830 5152.

“Join us for an evening of connection, celebration, and community spirit. We look forward to seeing you there!” concluded Mayor Stanton.
