Tendering is a formal process for seeking offers for the supply of goods or services and the disposal of property whereby an invitation is extended and offers are made and considered, according to a set of pre-determined assessment criteria, prior to the creation of a contract for the supply of the goods or services.
The legislative requirements for tendering by NSW local and county councils are prescribed by section 55 of the Local Government Act 1993 and by the Local Government (General) Regulation 2005 (Part 7). However, other legislations are also relevant to council operations and activities involved in tendering, procurement and contracts. These include NSW Government Code of Practice and NSW Code of Tendering for the Construction Industry.
Brewarrina Shire Council periodically runs tenders when necessary. All tenders are advertised in the Western Herald, regional newspapers, here on Council’s website and on Council’s social media pages.

REQUEST FOR TENDER 02/25 – BREWARRINA MAIN PLACE PROJECT DESIGN
The tender is now open for the detailed design of Brewarrina Shire Council’s Main Place revitalisation.
The extensive redevelopment is set to transform the heart of the historic town centre and nearby river precinct, and will include town centre beautification, art installations, riverside walking and cycling tracks, and improved access to and interpretation of Baiamer Ngunnhu (Aboriginal Fish Traps) and river precinct.
Council is seeking to engage a suitably qualified consultant to carry out the detailed design works as outlined in the tender documents, which are available to view on on Council’s Tenderlink.
Tenders must be submitted via Tenderlink by 11am on Tuesday March 11, 2025.
Local contractors are encouraged to apply.
