Brand-new Goodooga Splash Park & Brewarrina Memorial Pool now open for summer swim season
Just in time for the October long weekend and the warmer weather, Brewarrina Shire Council has announced the brand-new Goodooga Splash Park and Brewarrina Memorial Pool will both open for the summer swim season this Friday, October 4, 2024. And best of all, entry to both these facilities will be completely FREE all season long.
Brewarrina Shire Council General Manager David Kirby said he was incredibly proud to be offering visitors to both facilities’ free entry.
“With the weather already beginning to warm up, I am very excited the swim season is almost upon us, with the Brewarrina Memorial Pool and the brand-new Goodooga Splash Park both set to open this coming weekend,” said Mr Kirby,
“Something I’m also extremely proud to reveal is both of these facilities will be completely free, all season long.
“Ensuring everyone, no matter their situation, has access to these facilities, especially in our hot climate, is incredibly important. Not only in terms of the opportunity for everyone to enjoy recreational activities but to also promote physical health and wellness and improve quality of life. It also helps to foster social cohesion by serving as a communal space where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together, build relationships, and strengthen community ties.”
From Friday, the Goodooga Splash Park will be open from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.
“We still have some landscaping work to complete at the Goodooga Splash Park but it has been an absolute priority to get the facility completed enough to ensure it could be open and operational before the real summer heat sets in, and I am thrilled that has happened,” added Mr Kirby.
Brewarrina Memorial Pool Opening Hours
Monday – Friday (excluding public holidays): 6am – 8am, 10.30am – 7pm
Saturday & Sunday: 10.30am – 7pm
Public Holidays: 12 noon – 7pm
FREE entry for all, all season long.
